How to Measure a Kick Drum

Time-domain questions
Use the waveform and amplitude envelope to inspect onset, duration, edits and clipping. Zoom level matters: a whole bar can hide a click that is obvious over a few samples.
Frequency-domain questions
Use a spectrogram to follow pitch movement and decay. Use a spectrum for a defined window and remember that window size, averaging and smoothing change the display.
