Why it works

The rhythm creates the role.

Medium connector hits create motion without competing equally with the four anchors. The pattern collapses when every hit carries the same sub tail.

Practical workflow

  1. Start with the reviewed baseline at 150 BPM and straight timing.
  2. Identify the structural anchors before changing velocity or adding supporting hits.
  3. Keep connector hits lighter or shorter so bass can remain continuous without eight equally heavy collisions per bar.
  4. Compare the three variations inside a representative arrangement at matched loudness.
  5. Keep only the version whose empty steps, accents and tail length improve the full groove.
