Hear the same kick with full bass overlap and with a short level opening around the kick onset. Learn why timing separation can restore clarity without more kick level.
The kick becomes difficult to follow when the bass is loud during the same onset and occupies the same low frequency region. A short, smooth level opening around the kick can restore separation without making the kick louder.

Build a readable kick before processing the bass. Use Transient and Body for identity, then keep Sub and Length controlled. Perform the bass ducking or timing change in the DAW.
