Compare a lower kick body with a body placed near a 65.4 Hz reference context. Hear when pitch relationship becomes audible and why exact root matching is not always required.
A kick benefits from tuning when its body sustains a clear pitch that interacts with the harmony or bass. Short, noisy or rapidly falling kicks may need spectral and rhythmic fit more than exact note matching.

The kick body is moved near the reference pitch. Listen for a more unified tonal relationship.
Only the pitch of the kick Sub layer changes. The Transient, Body, pattern, reference context, duration and full file RMS remain controlled.
The near reference condition sounds more tonally unified, while the lower condition creates separation between the kick and reference. Either relationship can be useful. The musical role decides whether unity or separation is preferable.
Use Pitch or Key Match only after deciding whether the kick has a meaningful sustained note. Compare nearby settings in the complete arrangement and recheck Length after every large pitch movement.
