Compare a 115 ms kick with a 340 ms kick at 120 BPM. Hear how tail length changes space, weight and the separation between repeated hits.
A shorter kick leaves more space between hits and makes each arrival easier to separate. A longer kick supplies more sustained weight, but it can blur repeated hits or compete with bass when the arrangement is dense.

The 115 ms version separates each hit clearly. The 340 ms version carries more energy between hits. Neither length is universally correct; bass rhythm and arrangement density decide which one is useful.
Use Length to establish the available tail, then use Fade to make the ending smooth. Rebalance Sub after a large length change because duration alters perceived low frequency weight.
